Some Causes of Bad Breath You May Want to Know

If you’re having a bad breath problem and looking for an effective cure, then you need to examine the cause your bad breath. There are various causes of bad breath and here are some of them:

Dry Mouth

When you’re having a dry mouth, that means there is a lack of oxygen on your mouth. This creates an anaerobic (absence of oxygen) environment in your mouth that is conducive for the bacteria that produced volatile sulfur compounds which is the source of the foul odor.

You don’t have to be worry about this kind of bad breath, because almost everybody has it and it will usually dissapears once your mouth is not dry again, for example, when your saliva is starting to flow again. You can also drink water or eat fruits that contain water to flush out the bacteria.

External Agents

Foods such as garlic and onions may cause bad breath. And so does smoking, from the smell of the tobaco. Smoking can also makes your gums and teeth prone to disease that can cause bad breath. It’s best to just quit smoking, because not only smoking can cause bad breath, it can also cause other far more serious diseases.

Dentures

Dentures can cause bad breath if they’re not cleaned regularly. Food particles can get stuck in the appliances and if they’re not cleaned regularly, the food particles may invite an excessive amount of oral bacteria and this kind of condition can cause bad breath.
